Valve adjustment info help?
yes i googled, but i couldn't find the answer i was looking for..so anyways
what happens if you don't do a valve adjustment when needed? to be more specific will major problems occur dramatically if i keep daily driving it?
i just want to know because i'm planning on getting it done, but it's just not on my top priorities, but if the cons of not doing it ASAP are major. i shall be saving up to do that right away.

main thing that happens is that u will get a lot of valve chatter noise.A loss in power as the rocker will not be tight and looser it is wont lift the valve as high as if u had a tight clearance. if it starts getting too far out of spec im sure would start to idle like shyt. it most likely will not do any serious damage.
I'm new to the Honda engines, but I've done a lot of work with high performance/race tuned bike engines. Lost compression, poor air-fuel mixtures, are the most common side effects. As the vlaves slam shut over time the clearance between the camshaft and the adjuster can become too tight, allowing the valve to not fully seat and you loose compression and power. If this scenario goes on long enough, you can burn a valve. The other thing is that the clearance between the cam lobe and the adjuster can become larger, then your valves are just noisey, as no damage will occur with this scenario. Unless something severly wrong with the cam timing, and/or you have aftermarket cams the valves are not going to hit the piston.
You may not even need a valve "adjustment"...just check the clearances at the scheduled interval, if they're good then you're done. I've seen bikes remain in tolerance well past the "scheduled" adjustment period and we're talking 14,000 RPM engines.

I belive Honda reccomends every 70k. I would say, you deffinetly should have them adjusted.
I doubt you'll any major harm to the engine, but you should have them adjusted in the near future.

Nothing makes "VTEC kick harder" as it's just engaging the larger cam lobes. If your valve lash is within spec, your engine will make more power before and after VTEC, if not in spec, the engine will make less....simple math.

how exactly again will i know if it's too tight or loose? i'm planning on getting the valve adjustment done this summer anyways just wanna know the exact problem so i can choose to do beginning or end of summer. don't want any damage on my virgin motor.

you could go out and adjust them yourself, its only like a half hour job
there is a pro and con on this. the only time i would do a valve adjustment if the valves are starting to make noise but if they are not making any noise what so ever then dont do it because they could make noise if the valves been adjusted for the first time. if you do decide to a valve adjustment the best time is when the engine is cold

Also, just for information purposes, I at one time had to continually adjust my valves because the lash kept opening up. I switched from conventional to synthetic (Mobil 1 5w-30) and it STOPPED. To me this says the cam wear stopped. I use this oil always now.
i use synthetic always* and i've never had a valve adjustment before or the owner who had this motor. n my engine ticks a little but i'll just have a friend check it out soon.
sometimes i hear a tiny click click noise* when i idle is that it? or some loose fender lol. my car shakes alot due to the stiff mounts though so i'm not completely sure unless someone can show me an exact video of what it would sound like to tell that yo uwould need a valve adj.
