Fixed fuel line, now won't start.
As the title explained, I recently fixed a leaky fuel line from the pump to inside the car. Easy replacement fix, but now the car won't start. I took my fitting off, and no gas came from the pump. I assumed the line bolted into the pump is the main fuel, and the rubber hose clamped in is the return.
The car also ran off starter fluid. Obviously not getting fuel.
Any ideas whats going on?

I did not touch the pump, only unbolted the line at the top of the gas task, where the pump is. At the end of this line, which is only like 8 inches long, fuel does not come out when turned over.
The pump hums softly when the key is turned on. It ran before i did the fix just fine.
Very annoying.

well you said the install was easy so just disconnect the line at one end at a time to see if gas comes out.. just to see if it is the new line or what.. could always test pressure at fuel rail

that would be my guess through the internet.... i was dealing with a Ford Taurus the other day and the pump would turn on put was not really putting out enough pressure but i still still getting fuel to the rail so i dunno what to tell ya..
Tank is FULL. I remember filling it before parking it for the rebuild....
When the line comes off no fuel comes out. The line goes to the top of the tank, so fuel would only come out from the pump..well..pumping it out.
I started thinking, something must be shutting my fuel pump off. Maybe my pressure regulator, some bad ground(even though nothing was touched...)
SOMETHING must be upsetting my ECU .... Like i said, I hear the pump hum.
What possibilities would do this? (Reminds me exactly of my '99 SH that wont run off it's own fuel, even tho thats because of the immobilizer...)

Have you tired giving the pump direct power and ground and bypassing all other circuits to see if it will pump out fuel. If it doesnt pump out fuel from the fitting on the fuel pump you may have a bad fuel pump.
Actually, Enzo, I just pulled my pump out, and ran direct current into it. The pump was submerged halfway in water so the pickup was beneath the surface. I gave it power, and it hardly shot out water all all! It was sputtery and, frankly, I could pee more than the pump actually pumped. It is a worn out pump i suppose... Picking up a new one today.. Keep this forum updated what happenns.
