b16 swap EG6 main relay not kicking on???
so i've had a b16 in a 86 CRX forever. i recently got a 94 hatch shell. it had a H22 in in previously and the guy just pulled the motor and the entire car was generally just a hack job. i put a lot of work into fixing his sloppyness and starting with a fresh good shell. i got a eg wire harness from the junk yard and cleaned it up installed it and wired in the extra things. b16 is in and ready to go. i had to get a chassis harness from the junk yard too, and was only able to get an auto harness. i followed the very simple directions online that were the same every where online. Now i am to the point that I am trying to start it and the key turns, starter starts, but fuel pump doesn't prime, no spark, and car will not start. I have tested the main relay and it is fine, i also tested the ignition switch and it is fine as well but the main relay isnt getting power to turn everything on. Any ideas or suggestions?
hey i did this swap a year ago and its sounds like u have a electrical problem not a mechicanl one. go over ever part of your engine and make sure have power and ground. also r u running the right ecu for the swap it should a p30 in the serial number. the worst case it could happen u have a bad ecu that will prevent the car from starting.
ya i'm not at home tonight but as soon as i get home in the morning i was going to go through and check all the grounds. i tested the ignition switch this afternoon then had to leave. it's a chipped p28.
just had a similiar situation but my cel was also on, put the stock ecu in and it fired right up...couldn't drive it b/c of my mods but atleast that let me know it was the ecu and nothing else.
