WHAT IS WORSE - RACING OR CRACK?
I mean.....****. I can't stop thinking about my car, getting out to the track, looking for parts, etc.
I've lost girlfriends - and pissed off many others lol - Any money either goes to save for something having to do with my car..... The list goes on.
So I ask myself...... what addiction could be worse.
Crack will only cost at $5.00 increments lol

But seriously, I LOVE racing. Just the feeling of being at the track, and the smell of race gas in the air, and going fast. My girl loves it too, so I consider myself lucky!

**** does get expensive though, especially at a Pro/Heads up level. But I try and pull whatever strings possible to keep the car up and be out there. I don't care if it's a local street night, or going outta town to a sanction bodied event, I wanna be there ripping up the 1320.
lol racing can be as bad as crack as far as the spending goes but the experience is obviously way more positive in the long run. enjoy it as much as you can for as long as you can!

You are lucky...I've had blow outs with my wife - plenty of them.
Funny that you use that word "moderation" - My wife just used it on me at the beginning of this project.
I now see the mistakes I've made in the past.
1. Spend every day - and I mean everyday working or doing something after work on the car. (after work)
2. Talk only - and I mean only about cars and parts
3. Lie - about where I was going, etc.
4. Built 4 cars in 3 years.
So I think I am going to really focus on taking my time. Its hard, but I am going to try.
1. Dont tell her what you spend.
2. Set up another bank account she dont know about.
3. Follow rules 1 and 2 and you will be fine.
I learned over the years its best not to tell them anything. I have another account i deposit money into, just for parts. I even hiding spots where i hide money thru out the house. Just be wise and dont tell her anything!

imo crew is where it starts, dont have one dont bother building and racing a car it isnt enjoyable without people to share it with. that inc your other and kids.
luckily my wife likes doing car stuff most of the time...**** i had her at the track 3 times last week getting ready for and at IFO here in vegas and she never complained once, ohh and she is 7 months pregnant lol...she has her bank account and i have mine and we have a joint account for house **** that we split, that makes it nice when i buy parts
Love this post I am I am i'n the same boat but my girl is always complaing about spending money and I don't tell her but she finds out and tells me sell the car save money buy a house I got kids but not with her but I manage to put a ring on her finger and sorry thing is my job is not that great now so money is supper tight I feel like leaving her rather be happy then make her happy
Quoted for truth. We used to have 8 or 9 cars and it was fun then. Over the years everyone started selling their cars , im the only one left and to me the sport is boring now. I have no motivation to finish the car. Before i would stay up till 1am to get car ready for a race, Not anymore.
does that mean crack is not fun if you do it with a group??? i am just being silly... i think they are both bad but racing you some what keep your sanity and morals. people on crack wake up in strange hotel rooms with a none automotive rods shoved up their asses. you dont see them telling their friends about that personal best.
