Default 5th generation accord transmission fluid

Just to play it safe, is it okay to use motor oil 10w-40 as manual transmission fluid? And anyone know how much I would need. I checked the Haynes, but I couldn't find anything on how much to use.

According to the owners manual (in my 95), it calls for 10w-30 or 10w-30-depends on temps). Also it says that it takes 2qts.

Even though the older owner's manual says to use 10w-30, my local Honda service department recommends using Honda MTF. Personally, I'd choose Honda MTF over engine oil.
