Default body kit shops in California or Texas

I cant afford the ridiculous shipping price on a body kit and there is ZERO places in Oklahoma where i can just pick one up.

so my question is

Does anybody know of any shops that sell body kits. like a duraflex store or something?

my friend will be going to Bakersfield California soon and he said he would pick it up for me if i knew where to buy it. like within 50 miles of Bakersfield

and the only other closest state that i think would have such store is
Texas
and ill be going to texas sometime this summer
i just have NO clue what to search for or anything.

like where do distributors get the body kits

what kit are you looking to get? that'll help narrow down the search for it where you can pick it up

While you may really like the kit, I would recommend against getting it. You will be throwing your money away.

Yup. I have seen some cb7's and cd5's with body kits but none of them looked that good. If i was you and had some money to drop on something like that, id put it towards new wheels, maybe some new koni yellow struts, or some lowering springs. Heck maybe even a maaco paint job. your gonna also have to factor in the cost of painting that body kit as well... you can spend A LOT on OEM paint spray cans, or pay someone to do it, but either way it'll be pricey and will probably never match the rest of your car.

For the money there are a lot more things i would do to my accord for looks then put a body kit on it. But thats just my opinion.

#1 don't buy any of that garbage. It fits poorly, and costs way more than its worth in body work to get it to fit properly.

#2. Unless you own your own shop and inventory, you WILL be paying shipping for any of those body kits. No one stocks them because they are garbage.

why dont they fit right? are they not made for the car or something. im assuming i have to make some custom brackets to fit the car n everything, no biggie. ill make it fit.

and im doing all the body work and paint myself because i cant afford to pay someone to do it. i have a garage and a paint gun. i figured it cant look any worse than it does now. there is a dent in every single body part and it going to be a lot of work but im up to the challenge.

iver ordered some fenders $190 shipped
im about to get a new oem hood for $78 shipped
i need 1 new door i can for about $150
i have one messed up quarter panel thats going to be real fun
and a bodykit would cover the rest.
thats the plan

stock bumpers and side skirts are nice and add a nice lip, put the rest of the money into some wheels...WHEELS are what always make a car look nice, not the kit on the body....and fitment tends to be really crappy....and if you really want to change pay a lot for the edm or jdm pieces because they will fit perfect

Oh, but you would be so wrong... I've seen some VERY bad body kits that definitely ruin the car. Especially if the car's existing body doesn't look very clean.

Then fix the existing body work first and at least make it look clean before making the decision on the kit. You say you have a workspace and a gun, which is a good start, but how much experience do you have with actual body work? This would be some good practice for you.

gentek1145 is right too, I haven't seen any shops stock body kits in a WHILE. And it was more like they just ordered one or two for display, showing that they could order more.

If you are that worried about shipping cost, then maybe you should hold off on doing this. It does cost some money to install the kit and do the body work properly so if you are on that much of a budget, this could be a bad idea.

Anyway, good luck with whatever you decide.

Here is just an example

http://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/8409...t__p__20102818

That is an aftermarket bumper designed for an S2000 and you can just see the fitment......you are buying a cheaply made and mass produced piece, those companies do not test fit every piece, probably do not even test fit at all after making the initial mold.

You're far better off sticking with just OEM stuff, if it is messed up, check out junkyards first.

plus the picture i posted looks like the pieces fit on the car. i would call it a test fit. and if i just have to trim some pieces ill be happy with that.

and i haven't painted a car but ive painted lots of things on my car
and learned from every paint job.
ive painted lots of my interior plastic pieces and tons of little stuff under the hood and my gfs wheel covers. and my cam gear :D

Of course it appears that way - they want to sell you a product. Do you think ChaserAero has that picture on their website?

To be honest, and while it's just an opinion. You are jumping on the 'rice' bandwagon like 10 years too late. Those body kits were popular when the first Fast and the Furious was released. You will most certainly be made fun of at car meets driving with a kit like that. I am a proponent for doing your own thing but depressingly that is the truth at the time.

You probably can't. If $530 SHIPPED is breaking the bank then you probably need to save up your pennies since that's chump change considering $250 for used OEM JDM headlights is the going rate .....It's like me asking where I can pick up a Tamagachi, a Pet Rock, a Furby, or a Tickle Me Elmo. After the ship has sailed for whatever the popular item is you're looking at only getting it online.

Best bet? Find an eBay retailer with 'Buy it Now' or 'Best Offer' and offer them less.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Honda...Q5fAccessories

And look at that, every one of those body kits is 'Best Offer'.......

If the OP really wants a bodykit from California or Texas then he can try Extreme Dimensions. They're based out of Fullerton, they allow pickup from their place, and they have stuff made out of duraflex. However they also have a reputation of making stuff with poor quality fitment so if he wants to go that route then good luck.

Once again i would listen to what everyone is saying. Fix your existing body before putting something like that on. Get it looking clean and OEM first then play with ideas of aftermarket mumbo jumbo. And if thats a lot of money for you... then take a look at what the paint is going to cost.. and all of YOUR time its going to take making it fit and look good.

Either way, you'll just be another statistic that makes people disrespect hondas

You are correct, you absolutely can do what you want to that car...

Just know that we warned you, and that you WILL be put into the "ricer" stereotype by just about anyone that sees the car. If you're ok with that, godspeed to you.

Samuraij gave you a location. As others and I stated earlier, most shops won't stock them because they are hard to display, take up a good deal of space, and are not really in style.

I have plenty of money but im saving it for a house. In the mean tim im trying to get my car to look as good as it runs but not break me.

There is no honda techs where i live that are going to bash me .i only see like 5 tuners driving around here and i probably will never talk to them. In fact the guy with the best prelude didnt even know how to tighten his accessory belts cause it squealed like a mo fo. and he spent $1,100 on a gigantic carbon fiber spoiler. and people made fun of his purple lug nuts.

like i said though . i dont give a **** about what other people think, who knows what they say about my car. im pretty sure they laugh at it now.
since there is so many dents i put some bloody bandaid graphics on my fenders and .........i actually get a ton positive of comments.
