Default Front End Damaged EG (pictures)

so I'm in the middle of repairing/tucking/shaving my front end.. my core support is pretty beat up, along with the corner of the passenger side of the car right infront of the motor mount (pictures below).. its basically the side of the core/rad support.. im just wondering how much work it would be to drill out the spot welds and weld a new one in.. and if its not so bad, where in the world would i find one?

Replacing a core support isn't too bad. I had zero experience and I did it on my girlfriends car after she had hit a deer. I went to a junk yard and got an entire front end, removed the support and welded it back on. You could always get one from Honda or even an aftermarket one.

Looks like you may be able to get the area under the shock tower at Honda, # 10.

hondaautomotiveparts.com or your local dealership/part can print out a diagram.

Haha, it's funny how you start to think those thoughts after the car looks like it belongs in the junk yard. I have been there a few times myself.

Build it once the right way, the way that you want, and then drive it. That's the best way!

good stuff so far...I've done a couple of front end repairs. It's definitely time consuming, but you're be happy once it's all put back together

not sure if this applies to you, but all the aftermarket radiator supports i've seen are complete junk (metal too thin for the jack point). also bumper beams being half as thick as oem.

Thanks, but I've never had a problem with keystone, and I've done quite a few collision repairs using their parts. They are all CAPA approved (tested to fit like oem, not that it means much) and Honda want 350+ for the support, I was able to get it through a friend of mine for 159, so I couldn't pass it up.. I usually don't jack from the core support anyway, it's not made to be used as a jackpoint

ahh, you're probably right, never actually checked. i just always assumed it shouldn't be jacked from there cuz its like tin, and its all held on by tack welds no bolts.. i jacked up a geo metro from the core support once and it bent so i never used it again..

oil pan all day

Coming out nice, good as new! Honda makes it so easy to fix panels. What are your other plans for the car?

thanks man, its appreciated it.. as of now, i'm just trying to get it running, but since the motor (b20 block gsr head/trans) is out of it, I'm going for a full shave/tuck.. i've got school coming up soon, and this will be my only car, so it's going to be a daily driver. it'll be tucking tire with full disc brakes and brand new energy suspension ALL the way around. after i'm happy with that stuff, i'll be ripping my quarter panels out (again) and will be doing a full paint job (this hatch was painted at exactly this time last year).. i'm undecided on a color, but it's probably going to be a grey or dark silver.. or maybe that green tea color off the new crvs, i saw one the other day at the dealership and fell in love
