the number of lobes? y8 just alittle more radical? any ideas?

no i just dont know.. someone has a d series skunk camshaft for sale and they dont have any information, i pulled serial number on it and called skunk, they said they stopped making them and dont have info on them anymore but they believed vtec had 20 lobes but they didnt know if there was a difference between the 2 or not....

so im trying to figure out if theres a difference or not, or if its just the vtec, if theres no difference i wanna buy cam from him...

 

The y8 cam is a vtec cam. So it's likely different in every way. It has extra lobes for vtec engagement.

 

ok so does anyone have one of each cam out???? vtec has 20 lobes what does non vtec have?

 

y7 would have 16 do the math. 2 intake 2 exhaust each cylinder times 4= 16 there is one extra cam lobe that vtec is engaged and oil pressure locks the exhaust rockers together as they ride the higher lift lobe. 4 more of those one each cylinder would be 20.
