Default Lowered? Slammed? Dumped?

I realize I'm a complete EFing newb here. Thanks in advance for the padlock.

I keep reading threads with the haters saying yo man you ain't slammed, you dumped or something like you just lowered son that ain't dumped and then others who insist if it ain't low it ain't slow or some other retarded saying.

So I ask you, Honda-Tech...

What is the difference between the three terms lowered, slammed, and dumped?

Is it like describing a girl? She's hot, she's cool, she's phat, she's down, and they all sound different but mean the same thing?

Is it like describing this beer, and you have beer, ale, malt liquor, stout, bock, and all the other varieties, and it's all beer, but they're all different in the details?

Is it like describing a piece of toast, and there's this slice of bread here and it ain't toasted at all but you warmed it up in the microwave, then this perfect slice of toast and it's all tan and brown and nothing's burned, then there's this burned toast which is so crispy it'll evaporate if you look at it and you can't eat it because it tastes like the inside of your toaster, not saying you lick your toaster, because if you do that's pretty EFed up, but saying that is tastes like what the inside of a toaster would taste like, kinda bready, kinda charcoally, and kinda electrical fire-y?

Slammed and dumped are the same thing.

Lowered is all of the above but not necessarily either of the above.

Lowered at all is lowered. Slammed and dumped are just adjectives that more precisely define the degree to which a car is lowered.

Yeah. Lowered just means lower than stock ride height. So understandably that's a lot of gray area.

If I were to go meet someone for parts and they said, "I'll be in a lowered Integra," I'd think it could be any ride height really. I've seen cars that are lowered, but look pretty damn close to stock ride height and I probably never would have noticed they were on aftermarket suspension unless they'd told me so.

Now, if that same guy instead said, "I'll be in a slammed Integra," or, "I'll be in a dumped Integra," I'd expect to see a car pull in that's nearly sitting on the ground.

I personally think slammed and dumped are pretty much open to personal opinion. This is one big reason why I don't claim my car is either and I never post in any of the group threads about them.

LOL @ "bready"...that is so dumb I just had to laugh. Those are some of the more interesting analogies I've ever come across.....I gotta follow NOFX here advice-wise.

My Opinion
Slammed/Dumped= Me at 16
Lowered (S.Tech's, Sport Kit)= Me at 21
Lowered'ish (H.Techs, Pro Kit)= Me at 28
Stock=...Never.

Everyone above me pretty much covered it. The only thing I'd like to add is, every ones idea of slammed/dumped is different.

Mine is tucking a certain amount of tire, some is a certain amount of gap. (fender to tire) I have a 1 finger gap all around, and I believe my car is no wear near slammed, but, the older generation (my dad, uncle, grandma) call me a low rider.

They see my friend's integra, ( tucking the tops of the tires on 195-45-15's) and can't believe he can even drive the car. And my dad tells him, he's stupid. lol

Yah man, my pops says the same **** to me and im a grown man now. "Still screwin' around w/those stupid 4-bangers I see."

Oh dad...You keep paying gas for your heavy *** Mercedes 300d.

One thing I've noticed is that its kind of funny how my taste has changed over the years. Right back to the Pro Kit and/or about an inch lower then stock as I've gotten older. The 1 finger gap looked great on my dc2 but I'm making trips from AZ to CA once a month, the comfort just outweighs the looks for me in my old age. After my children turned 6 and I went to the 4 door I vowed to keep it comfy. HAHA

I'm almost embarrassed to say how much I jocked "dumped" cars when I was a younger. The lower the better

Slammed- car sits real real low
Dumped- car lives on the floor
Lowered- car is dropped on springs but has a finger gap or so

Ugh me too. I am guilty, of being one of those kids. My skunk2's wouldn't get me low enough, so I pulled both front collars out! Could hardly turn the bitch, and almost lost control on the high way, because it bounced so bad.

Mine dad say's damn 4 bangers, until I tell him I get 22-26mpg around town. His car get's 11-15 his truck 6. haha

I am so jealous! For a short time I was getting 15-17mpg, did some work and the mpg came back.

My friends coupe is getting 39 on the highway, and it's b16.

I can't wait until August for a road trip to see what she does on the high way.

Yep. 160k mile '88 HF, full interior (I'd like a cargo cover and all, but the HF I don't believe came with one standard). Everything works in it. It needed axles and front pads, could probably use new front rotors (it's on the originals!). I love this car. Glad I waited a bit for one.

Lowered is just an all encompassing term of a car that has modified suspension in order to cause it to have a lower ride height than stock.
