Default Shift Linkage problems

I have a b20 in my ek with a gsr tranny when i installed the shift linkage i remember using one from an integra... now years later the rod that goes into the tranny i replaced because of the joint was bad... the problem i have is that i replaced it with a 99 si one... after i installed it the shifter i have is way to far forward hitting the center console in 1,3, and 5... is it possible that mixing of the two is my problem? thanks

Lesse. No problem before replacement. Problem after replacement.

Are si and integra shift linkages different lengths?

I think they are different lengths. You need an integra one. Can you compare the new one with the old one side by side?

Im not 100% sure. Everything I have read on this site says to use any b-series linkage. However, I am not sure if buying the other half of the linkage will solve your problem. It may but I have never tried it. I have always used an ls linkage. Anyone else????

In theory what you are saying should work but like I said, I have never tried it.

i hope it does... Thinking about it now the SI may be longer because if my shifter is too far forward that means the bottom rod has to be longer than the top rod... it would make sense if i buy the top rod for an SI and hope its longer than the one i have now...

Did this fix the issue? I'm having the same problem in my 2000 ek and the shifter hits the center console. I'm thinking of just buying a whole new linkage but I'd like to know if that'll fix the problem before I do.
