Completely OT: Pics of my '69 Camaro SS
I know some of you might want to check this out. (flamesuit on for those that don't). The car is kinda rough right now, but I have all the stock parts for it to convert *mostly* back to stock. I want to have some fun too though.
Here's a few pics I snapped yesterday. Keep in mind the car was in storage for 15 yrs!
My dad used to drag race it. He ran mid 10's with it. No fiberglass anything. That was with a built 438 with a tunnel ram. No nitro, no forced induction. Please no flames about the rear wing. It was functional at the time.
As you can see I have some work cut out for me...but the thing is the body is straight and there's no rust-through. Just some minor surface rust here and there.

Before you completely tear it down, drive it around town and rev out all the Hondas you come across.

Don't worry Reid...just for you I will pick on as many riceboys as I can. haha. Hell, I'll even do it in the WRX.

I need motivation to work on my '68 RS Camaro. It's been under restoration for like 3 years now. I'm so close to being done. Basically I did a windshield forward restoration on it. It had rust, so it has 2 new rear quarter pannels and 2 new fenders. All the body work is done, all the engine and tranny work is done. I just have to polish all the Stainless Steel trim around the windows, put that on. Put the AC system back together. Put the grille in. Door pannels. Radio.
I hate polishing SS Trim.
For the record:
'68 Camaro RS
Sea Frost Green, Black Rallye Stripe.
Black Interrior
Factory PS, PB, AC
Deluxe Interrior
327 - 210hp stock (It's more than that now: 30 over, 9.5:1, Nice Cam)
2 Speed Powerglide
10 Bolt Posi.
100% Original, 117k miles, My grandfather bought it new in '67.
Best of all, for those who know old Chevys... it's a COPO car with a blank identa-plate. Special order from the factory (Grandfater was a manager at the dealer).
Booya. This is my contribution to this OT thread.

Say things like:
"Whut ya got in thar sum sorta lawnmower injun?"
"I'll never lose to one of those fartcans!"
Then laugh at your own jokes like a redneck.
Nice car man
My first car was a 1970 Camaro SS with the 300hp motor (4 bolt mains, 10.25:1 forged TRW pistons). Paid $2500 for it in 1982. Back in those days, everyone was fitting traction bars and huge tires in the back; ever the contrarian, I fitted Koni shocks and Rancho sway bars
A lil minor bolt on mods too (blackjack headers, Edelbrock IM, and a Holley double pumper). Very fond memories...except for the mullet I had
