Now, two seals i have fitted and twice they have leaked.
What seems to happen is when the shaft is inserted the tension spring on the inner part of the seal comes off. Then the seal leaks.
I am a qualified motor mechanic and have my own shop so it is not a key board warrior issue.
I just dont get it.
BTW they were new genuine seals. Am I missing something here? Maybe the incorrect shaft?
Help please.

Sorry guys,
b18c7 with a b18c gearbox.
Standard shafts as far as I can tell.
Right hand side goes in fine time and time again.
Left hand side always pops the spring of the back of the seal.
Could the shaft be a different dia?
Could the shaft from a b18b be a smaller dia where the seal sits?
Thanks
Alex.

Here in the US, 90-93 mid shaft are larger diameter at the seal, 94-01 are smaller. In fact a D series seal is used on the 94-01 Teg trannys for the mid shaft.
