Default LSD queries and sourcing

Hi there guys,

Sorry that this is my first post...but I guess an Intro is in order. I hail from sunny South Africa :D. I've built a Frank LS tec, had a B20 tec and then a b18 resleeved to 84mm tec. My power figures don't compare to yours...but I guess the 4500feet above sea level and crap fuel doesn't help haha. Best power was 203hp otw with 199nm. 14.4 @ 100mph exit speed.

The reason I'm here Is I have a problem. A friend imported a Y21 g/b from Australia (used in the del sol V-tec). From research it's supposed to be the CTR in spec but with a different LSD. Originally I was under the impression the box had a clutch-type lsd. My mechanic has opened it and said it's a gear type..but not helical. The guy I bought it from said I can use a normal helical lsd (type r) to replace it. Is this possible? It has a 66 tooth pattern(crown?). Please can you advise me in the right direction to get the right part from either a fellow forum member or link.

P.s - our tecs this side came out with a weird 4.266 f/d ratio'd box with a 15/64 config. I'm looking to source a 3rd gear and hub (1.458 - 24/35) as well.

Looking forward to the favourable advice. Busy in the process of going boost...WoOt :D

You can use the ITR LSD with the ITR 66 tooth R/G as long as you also use the matching countershaft. The 10 bolt 4.266 has a smaller ring gear hole so it will not fit the ITR LSD. If you want to stay with your current 4.266 FD set than you will need a 10 bolt helical B16 LSD. We can also help you with the 3rd gear and hub. PM me for more details.

Thanks for the responses. I think If I were keeping these box's I'd spend the money but I just want to replace with 2nd-hand parts. Any advice?
