Default Quick Exhaust question: flex section or not?

Guys,
I have a WS2 with stock ITR header at the moment.
Between the header and the WS2 catback portion I currently have a high flow cat welded to a pipe (needs to be cleaned up, temporary setup).

I am about to install my RMF Narrow replica header and I would like to clean up the section between the header and the cat-back.
I already have the high flow metal core cat, I need to weld a pipe and flange to it and make it a bolt on piece (so I can swap to test pipe if/when needed).

My question is: Do I buy a flex section and weld it next to the catalytic converter?

Last but not least... which flange do I buy that will mate correctly to the RMF Narrow?

Please let me know your opinion guys.

Thanks,

-Walter

you def need a flex pipe. I had that same setup on my coup and kept breaking welds over time. Then I put a piece of flex pipe just after the test pipe and solved the problem.

Awesome, thanks for confirming guys.

Any idea on which flange will work with the RMF Narrow header from this link?

I guess my question is... does a regular 2-bolt flange (right size) work, or do I need to get a special flange given the special 'donut' looking adapter that came with the header?

Thanks again for confirming,

-Walter

I hacked off the flange that came with my rmf header i dont like the way it bolted up I had too many exahust leaks. so I vouched for a stock style where you slide the donut over the piping itself. if you get what im saying? you can buy the 2 1/2 flange online for like 10- 20 bucks or at a muffler shop good luck!

Not to thread jack, more to expand on the initial question, would a flex pipe be required for any exhaust setup or just that one specifically?

the engine moves around inside the engine bay. parts that are bolted to the engine need to be able to accommodate for this movement.

I didn't have a flex pipe on my truck and it just rattled the exhaust apart. Definitely have either a flex pipe or something.
