Bent frame need help
I bought a 95 integra that was crashed from a HT member. I have a serious problem. The frame is bent and I bought a new fender and tried to install it. I'm basically getting all the parts in and now I dont think I can put all the pieces back because the fact that the frame is bent. I couldnt even tell it was the frame untill my girl told me. So my question is.... is there any possible way to bend it back by myself or do I need to take it to the shop. If I need to take it to the shop how much do you think it would cost? Its unnoticable with the fender off but when its on its very obvious. Is there anyway I can just replace that section? I need all the help I can get here. Thanks All!
If you find a reputable shop, most of them will have this machine called a frame straightener. They usually are able to tell which direction to pull push or whatever, according to how off your cars frame is. It could be possible though, since its just the fender, that the section is messed up. When i bought my civic back in the day, I had the same problem. I ended up just taking some measurements and figuring out where to bend push etc. Worked out well just time consuming. But, I am not sure how much a body shop would charge for that kind of work, just know that the machine exist. Good luck
How did you do it yourself? I know exactly where the section is. Its just that I do not know how to do it. I just thought maybe it was a section that had bolts on it. I have no clue what to do becuase I dont think i would want to take it to the shop cause they might charge too much. Is there any specific tools that you used?
if your frames just bent, a shop would only charge around 200 to fix it, i dont think itd be that much. my civic was hit and my friend pulled the frame and suspension, welded a new radiator support and reinforcement bar (bought both), put a new front glass on (he bought the window too), and put my hood, fenders, headligts, corners, and everything back together for 575, so i think just pulling the frame shouldnt cost too much, but i also got hooked up alittle too.^^ but you get what i mean.
