I replaced the door lock on a 96 recently. Had to take the inside panel off and reach through.. There's the lock mechanism on the door handle, and then a rod that runs down to the latch on the door side. I suppose it could be either one.
You might start by getting some spray lubricant (thicker would be better so it sticks)... access it from the inside after removing the panel - hit it with some WD-40 first to penetrate and then something more grease-like that will last.
See if that helps?

PB Blaster works wonders

when i look in my topic for help here, being such an active member on these forums helping people and being helped myself, no matter how dumb questions can be or sound or easy they may be to someone, i seriously HATE stupid kids like you who post with 6 posts with stupid **** like "YO BRO I HEAR PB WORKS WONDERS BRO IT IS BEST BRO." esp from a 2005 account.
obviously your a troll for information, so like.. less creeping and more helping imo...
i know what pb is, and i was wondering if there was alternate ways than taking off the lock cause we all know its hard and annoying taking out the lock, also the chances of scratching the doors etc, I've never looked at or done work on door locks before so yeah i was just wondering for input, and yours was obviously retarded.
the above post before yours was actually helpfull, its no god damn wonder forums go to **** nowadays, stupid 6 post count kiddies with their bullshit replies tend to make people wander off or not give a **** about a community eventually...
on that note, so just spray some wd40 or pb blaster up from the access hole from behind the pannel will work eh? no need to take it off and soak it? will their grease or w/e dry out overtime and give me the same issue again?
im looking for a more perminant fix tbh.
thanks in advance
