Default 99 2.3 cl is equal to what accord? Vacuum diagram?

Is the a particular accord that is most similar or exact to a 99 2.3 cl?

Thanks!

Also, is there an in depth vacuum diagram out there?

98-02 Honda accord. F23A1. These accords always came equipped with the ULEV motor which is the F23A4, but I doubt the 2.3 CL's came with it in the States.

Google is your best answer for the vacuum diagram, there should be some floating on the web somewhere.

a 99 cl looks nothing like a 98-02 accord, that can't be right.

Since when does it HAVE to look cosmetically the same to have the same drivetrain? Use the search function (which would have given you your answer in the first place) if you don't believe us.

The F23a4 was definitely not in all 6th gen Accords.

The F23a1 was the common engine (VTEC, available in the LX and EX). There was also the F23a5 (Non-VTEC, available in the DX).

Exactly.

The Acura CL is the more luxurious version of the 98-01 Accord LX/EX, basically almost the same as the V6 accord, except for the heated seats. Leather interior, woodgrain consoles, and all the good stuff, I believe the 2.2-2.3 CL share the same suspensions as well.

Drivetrain is exactly the same, whether it be the 3.0 CL, 2.2 CL, or the 2.3.

2.2 CL = 5th gen accords
2.3 CL = 6th gen accords (non v6)
3.0 CL = 6th gen accords (V6)

Okay, sorry for my ignorance. Makes more sense though, looking through some of these repair manuals gets a little hairy.

Thanks everyone for the help!

So the 99 2.3CL is all 6th gen? It looks like 5th gen body, and 6th gen engine.

Can anyone confirm this?

What exactly are you trying to figure out where you need this info?

Narrowing it down might get you better answers.

What accord manual could I buy? The Acura one is $100 and the haynes accord ones are 10 a piece.

Could I buy one for the body/interior (5th gen) and one for the engine (6th gen?)

Don't you think it would be nice to know which of the accords (one of the most popular cars on the road) matches your own when it comes time for junk yard visits?

So, 99 2.3CL 5th gen body, 6th gen engine, or all 6th gen?

Thanks
Gunnar

you are comparing two different manuals... the haynes manuals don't even compare to factory manuals.

I would get this...
http://www.helminc.com/helm/product2...804&itemtype=N
... and call it a day.

Actually, only part of his question seems to have been answered. Having that Acura manual would help him with his own car, but he wants to know what Accords have similar parts for when he goes to the junkyard... I think if I understood him correctly.

Honestly your best option may be looking at the diagrams on majestic honda's website (hondaautomotiveparts.com) and comparing part numbers between the Accords and your CL. It's free and seems to fit what you want.

well... it does answer the question as too which manual to get. That's your best option for the money.

I would agree.

Because you (the OP) didn't list any specific parts you have in mind it would be best for you to research it the way Bwill9886 has mentioned.

But I wouldn't expect much exterior parts of any year Accord to match that of the CL. Don't know what the interior looks like so IDK. For the engine, transmission and suspension just look up the part under you car on HAP and then find it for the Accord and see if the number match like Bwill9886 said above.
