Default Integra OEM dual bend shifter in 99 Civic Si without cutting or bending??

I'd like to try a dual bend Integra shifter in my Civic Si, but I found out that the base is wider. I see that some people cut it and others spread the linkage out to accommodate the wider base. What linkage parts would I need to buy to make it fit properly without doing the above? I seem to recall someone mentioning this was possible, but I haven't been able to find any details. Any help would be appreciated!

Attached picture doesn't belong to me, but shows where people normally cut.

I thought all B series shift linkages would accommodate an integra shifter, that picture above is for an Integra shifter w/ a D series shift linkage AFAIK. So if it doesn't fit then I guess you'd need the integra one?

i would not recommand stretching the linkage. I did this diy a while back on my 99 si. I simply grinded off a bit so that the bearing would fit perfectly. I dont see any other way of doing this diy other than switch to a type r shift linkage etc. but trust me, its worth while doing this. feels much better and precise in shifting and it doesnt break your wallet. If can, install the energy suspension shifter bushing at the same time

I think EG Civics are a direct swap, but EK and EM1 you need to modify.

I definitely don't want to stretch the linkage, but would like to avoid taking the guesswork out of cutting by possibly swapping some of the linkage instead. I'm definitely doing it, though. The shifter has never felt 100% comfortable to me. If I move the seat up, I lose legroom and the steering wheel is too close. Hopefully this mod does the trick and moves it closer to me. The ES bushings are already in, but probably worn. I have a new set, but wonder if those blue plastic Hardrace ones are any good?

Do you mean everything, as in what's shown in this picture?

I think so, but I'm getting conflicting information online. How risky is it to buy a used linkage on Ebay? The ITR linkage is supposed to be slightly thicker, but I don't know how corrosion resistant the zinc plating is compared to black.

ive never used an ITR linkage before so i dont know if its thicker..... i always thought all integra ones were the same besides the ITR one being corrosion resistant.... but imo a regular integra should do... ITR ones go for like 60-100 bucks ... regular integra ones i sometimes get for free lol

U guys are too oem. Go with a twm single bend short shifter. Dual bends position the **** farther away from the driver.

You need an integra linkage. They're all the same. Don't be fooled into paying more for an ITR model. The only part of the linkage that will fit an EM1 is the actual shifter part. The one with the bitch pin in it. The stabilizer WILL NOT clear the secondary O2 sensor on a 96-00 civic.

I've been thru this on my EM1. I currently have an integra shifter and a gold ITR linkage that came with my ITR swap. Again, all the integra linkages are the same. I believe the shifters are all the same also. Certain year (00-01 USDM) ITR shifters are chrome and the JDM linkages are gold. Color is the only difference.

All 88-00 civics come with the same shifter. Meaning that linkage itself is narrower at that part.

The 94-01 integras all come with the wider shifter base. So the linkage is wider at the corresponding area. The linkage itself is also a larger diameter and I believe has tighter bushings/joints.

Short throws don't feel as good as the OEM integra shifter/linkage. The linkage is beefier so it feels nicer. The shifter is the PERFECT amount of shortness. I used to have a skunk2 on my EM1. It didn't feel anywhere near as nice as the stock Integra parts do now.

The only reason I'd want ITR is if it offered some benefit, eg., corrosion resistance or strength. Nothing cheap is available right now.

TWM is a great company. I've had an A6 Leopard since 2008 and it's amazing, but there's nothing special about their short shifters, other than overall quality. If you look at the pictures on their website comparing stock to TWM, the upper part of the shifter is shortened significantly. That's why they now sell shift boots so the stock boot isn't bunched up. In some cars, this wouldn't be a problem, but only makes the ergonomics worse for me.

I just don't like the feel of short shifters. I also had a Skunk2 and removed it shortly after the install. It's a solid steel shifter, but OEM with ES bushings was better for me. Although it was a dual bend, I don't know if the **** distance is any different from an OEM Integra's. Everything I've read states that dual bend allows the **** to sit closer to the driver.

Great info, thank you! You're saving me a big headache. Is your stabilizer still hitting the O2 sensor? What did you do?

You're saying I should buy the Integra linkage, keep the part that actually holds the shifter and use the stock EM1 part with it?

yes. You're only using the integra gear selector linkage. You use the EM1 stabilizer bar.

I got a question. Sorry for reviving old thread but is there any difference between the Si stabilizer bar and Integra? The reason I'm asking this is when I put in my B swap, I used the whole shifter linkage and shifter from a GSR and sitting in the driver seat with no shift boot just noticed that the shifter looks a bit forward? I mean in neutral the shifter looks like it's in third.

Or you could just take the shifter to a muffler shop and have them trim 2mm off one side and 7 mm of the other.
