First time on slicks *B16 content
So I hit the local strip Friday to try out my slicks for the first time.
I did my burnouts in first gear till the tires smoked. I was preloading and trying my launches at different rpms. Since I don't currently have launch control it was hard to say exactly where I was rpm wise but I think around 6k was the highest I went that night.
I did notice the engine bogging down on launch so I think I need to go higher next time. I was cutting consistent high 1.8s low 1.9s.
Here are some specs and times. C&C is welcome from the pros
Car: 1992 JDM Civic SiRII
N/A built B16a
Dynojet 188/118 STD correction
Dynopak 174/112 SAE correction
Weight that night 2310lbs with driver
Tires: MT 22.0/8.0-15 ET drag
I tired different pressures, at the end of the night I was running on about 9.5psi cold.
Times where pretty consistent in the 13.5-13.6 range
Here is the best of the night.

Let me know if I should try something different with the launch or pressures. Or any other tricks you guys might have.

if its bogging, and you dont want to leave harder, try increasing the tire pressure. if its bogging. then the tires are getting hot enough. so no need for a 2nd or 3rd gear burnout.
Built and balanced bottom end. Mahle 9cc piston, eagle rods, clevite bearings, exedy 10lb flywheel.

slip clutch a little on launch if your worried about breaking and don't want to launch it higher then just try slipping it more your 60ft should go down. Otherwise launch higher. Also raise tire pressure till you spin then back it down.
I'm not worried about breaking, im pretty good at preloading I think. I just didn't get a chance try higher that night.
I will try playing with the pressures like you mentioned. Thanks for the tip.

Was this the first time at the track with this setup? If not im curious to see what other times and trap speeds you have ran.
With that power im surprised you are not trapping a little bit higher and running slightly better times.
Just for reference my hatch with a jdm b16 with only an exhaust, intake, and type r cams ran a 14.00 at 98 with 14 inch drag radials. the car weighed 2230 pounds with me in it and still has a stock header.
I think you can lower those times with some more practice.

This was my first time on a full slick. I did run this setup last year on 23" dra radials I had. The car ran 13.6-13.7s @ 102-103mph with 2.0 60fts. Car was also about 200lbs lighter though. I have my interior back in this year but may take it out for the track to help
I cut 2.0 and 2.1 60 fts with my drag radials too. Launching with the b16 is tough because if its not perfect you will never have enough tourque to power through first gear without bogging like you can with 1.8 motors.
I think if you take out the weight and keep the slicks you should definately be in the low 13's. Good Luck.
I know im hoping to hit 13's by putting a header on my car but have not made a decision on a header yet for the b16.

ya b16's are a total bitch to launch. on the one I had I left at 7800 and it still bogged on 20" slicks lol. my h2b I could launch at 3500 and tear out of the hole with a low 1.7
