Default Tein Type Flex

Just reading the latest issue of Sport Compact Car about their visit to Tein. In the article they show the Type Flex. I did a search and didn't come up with much on these. How do these compare to the HA and SS? According to Tein's site they also have only 4kg/mm springs for the rear. The Type Flex is also more expensive than the SS, but come with upper pillow ball mounts. Anyone tried these or have any experience with them?

Call Payn Technologies (248 362 0283) and ask for Matt or Tom. They have answered the same question for me. Tell them JeffG said to call.

The Type Flex is basically a compromise with the RA/RE, HA/HR, and SS combined with the ability to control (and designed for) with the EDFC. The Electronic Dampening Force Controller allows you to adjust damper from within the car to solenoids adjusting the coilover.

So where in the line does it fit? The spring rates they show for the Type R also seem pretty low (like 9kg front and 4kg rear). Anyone had experience with these yet?

from an email from tein usa....
The FLEX Damper for the Integra comes with a spring rate of 9kgf/mm (504lbs/in) for the front and 4kgf/mm (224lbs/in) for the rear. You can go as stiff as 10kgf/mm (560lbs/in) for the front and 6kgf/mm (336lbs/in) for the rear without the need to have the dampers re-valved. For the front, we have 10,12,14,16,and 18kgf/mm available. For the rear, we have 5,6,7,8,9,10,12,14,16,18, and 20 kgf/mm available.

yup, type flex is a better choice than HA/HR. i think tein should replace HA/HR with flex.

Why do you feel the type flex is better?
because flex can adjust the height without affect the stroke/preload of the shock.
