Hi,
Is there a way to turn off the alert sound when the trunk is open?
It seems that when I first open the trunk to take out the groceries the car peeps the first min or two.Is there a way to turn it off?Any help would really be appreciate it.Thanks

 

It peeps? Keep the curtains closed, so it can't see in through the window.


Seriously, though, I've never heard any beeping because the trunk was open.

Only when the key is in the ignition, the ignition turned off, and the driver's door open. That's the only time I hear beeping.

 

Yeah mine never beeped either. Aftermarket Alarm maybe?

Sorry I messed up big time TWICE.
Yeah it always beeps when the trunk is open.I don`t know what else to say about it.Nothing whats so ever.That`s the way it is, since I bought the car Brand New.
I never bothered to ask anybody all these years.So I figured I`ll ask if anybody knew anything about it.I thought thats the way it supposed to be, to alert that the trunk is open.Thats just me but I guess I`m wrong.I don`t know!

Are you sure you don't have your lights on or the key in the ignition with the drivers door open while the trunk is open? The new civics don't beep with the trunk open.

 

never heard of it beeping. BUT my sis 05 LX does sound the alarm if we don't disengage the alarm before opening the trunk.

 

you sure you dont drive a benz or bmw? i dont think em2 has that feature

 

Yea sounds a if the op has an oem alarm.

Op: try pressing the unlock button before opening the trunk.

I turn the lights off before I get out of the car and take the keys with me.
Once I called American Honda Motor Co. and I provide them with the Vin# to check if it had ANY recalls.She is clean.Thanks
