I'm getting ready to get this done, finally. I have all of the parts ready to be installed. One thing im worried about is the proportional valve. I've read lots of conflicting things out there. I have a 97 civic hatch and have been reading that it uses the same valve as an EM1, 99-00 civic Si with rear disk brakes. Is this a fact or will I need to pruchase a new PP valve?
My current setup: Front ITR caliper/disk conversion with GSR 1 inch MC and brake booster.

Thanks everyone. Seeing that my setup is more geared as an "integra" setup. Will I need a PPV from an integra? will they even fit my lines?

Rear discs use less pressure than rear drums. Much less. MC upgrade is unnecessary for disc conversions.
If you're upgrading the front brakes in piston size and rotor size you'll want a bigger master cylinder.
And I can vouch for the 96-00 prop valve. I have a DX civic hatchback and I had the stock DX teeny tiny brakes and rear drums. Upgraded to rear integra discs, front s2000 rotors, and an 1" MC from an ABS integra. Car brakes beautifully.

The back of the caliper has to be machined. I bought the whole setup from BrakeExpert. $375

23T bracket grinded with S2K caliper bodies? If so, were the caliper brackets grinded the same amount as the ITR front disk conversion?
It uses s2k brackets and s2k calipers:

I currently have grinded 23T brackets, EX knuckles, and the ITR calipers w/11.1" rotors. I'm wondering if it's worth upgrading to 11.8" while I'm "rebuilding" my car. But your setup looks sweet. Diggin' the red s2000 calipers.
ITR calipers are hard to beat. I'd have gotten them if they were available as a DX knuckle setup. BrakeExpert has 46 various oem/dx/ex knuckle brake combinations now.
If I had ITR calipers I would not consider getting the s2k calipers. The upgrade is minor.
The only upgrade you'd get from a larger rotor is less brake fade ultimately. Are you experiencing brake fade with the ITR setup?

You're right. I'll stick with the ITR's. Can't wait to see how it all performs with the rear disks. No premature brake fade with the ITR setup. Well, I hardly drive the EK so I really can't say much about it lol.

Indeed. With integra rear trailing arms are totally compatible with rsx calipers and ep3 rotors.
One of my future upgrades for sure.
BrakeExpert has been running all kinds of brake setups on his factory 96-00 prop valve. He's currently using Acura NSX front/rear brakes. He was using Ferrari F430 fronts and NSX rears.
He's never considered the prop valve to need to be changed.

Great info in this thread. I'm actually about to do a rear disc conversion on a 97 CX hatch. I kno I don't need to swap my prop valve cuz it's the same as an Si's but new info to me is that I don't need to swap my MC. I was getting Rdy to shell out $70 for an si MC but now I jus read info in this thread that I don't need to. Will my stock CX MC do fine in my rear disc conversion?? My setup is integra trailing arms, calipers, rotors in the bak btw. Stock up front.
Yes, rear drums use much more pressure than disks do. You can keep your MC if all you're doing is a rear disc conversion. If you upgrade the front brakes to ex/em1 brakes you'll want at least a 7/8" MC. a 15/16" or 1" MC would give you a firmer feel too. A lot of them are pretty reasonable on Ebay, $70-90. All ABS integras had 1" MC's that are compatible with 96-00 civics. The MC must come from a 98-01 integra though. Just look at the brake line ports on the MC and make sure it looks like yours.
