They never came with sunroof in the us.

I 'belive' some in canada and other contries did, but not 100% on that.

Canada did not get '96 - '00 Civic hatchbacks with sunroofs either. For that you'll have to go to Europe and Japan.

An acquaintance of mine is in the process of putting an OEM sunroof in one of these right now, he's using the roofskin from an EX coupe along with the last 6 inches of the original hatch roof at the rear. Apparently the coupe headliner is only about an inch shorter.

So what do you do about getting a new headliner. The headliner I have in there now is to short. I s there a company that makes custom ones or does anyone know how to make a custom headliner?

Start calling some shops that do interior work.

i had a sunroof in my 97 ek hatch. it was a power aftermarket one that tillted up and slid open all the way. the whole kit came with a trim that you on the headliner and you just cut the whole is your oem headliner. i believe the company was abesto, or habesto. something like that, maybe you can google it.

Post photos and people will be able to help even more since we'll have a better idea of what you're dealing with. Does the glass saying anything on it?

I wish I had a photo. I mean if you look up in a 99 honda civic dx and there is a sunroof. I need the headliner. In the uk they call these cars ej9. It is really frustrating.

I believe cars with OE moonroofs got different headliners (not just the hole in the middle) than the cars without moonroofs. For example, I believe you cannot make a DX coupe headliner fit an EX coupe. Even if you cut a hole in if for the roof. The headliner hangs lower in cars with moonroofs than cars without them.

If you're in the US your car is still an EJ6. Moonroof or not. Check your VIN and it should start with 2HGEJ6.

I'm asking for pics because I'm trying to confirm what sort of moonroof your car actually has. I don't want to see if there's really a hole in it.

Please post a pic if you can get one. It will clear a lot of this up for the people trying to help.

To clarify, I'm looking for any photo of your car that shows the moonroof. I do not care about the headliner side so much. I'm not looking for a photo of how the headliner doesn't fit.

Looks like these are the only pics I can find that show it at all (from your build thread). Unfortunately they're not very helpful.

Interior or exterior. Both would be great. They just need to be decent photos of the part.

Ok thanks. I found a few headliners on civiclife.net and they are pretty reasonable prices. Esentually my car is the same as an EJ6 over there in the UK?

I need to see the moonroof to be sure. I'm trying to determine which headliner will fit your car, but I need photos to be sure.

If it is a factory moonroof I do not think an EJ6 headliner would work. And EJ6 in the US is a '96-'00 Civic CX/DX hatch, DX coupe and DX/LX sedan. These cars come with a 1.6L SOHC non-VTEC engine originally, have manual locks and windows and no moonroof.

This car is a US car, yes? That would mean it was made in Canada, but made to be sold in the US...

Photos would make this far easier. If your car is a really a DX hatch sold in the US then the moonroof is either aftermarket or someone replaced the entire roofskin (cut the original roof out and welded in the roof from another car).

PLEASE supply us with photos of the moonroof assembly and we can help you much easier.

Ok. No problem will have photos posted shortly. I called honda and gave them my vin and they pulled up a headliner with no sunroof. My opinion is someone took the roof skin and placed it on there. My car has power windows, lock, steering, a/c, cruise control.

What are the first six digits of your VIN?

Where is the seal for your moonroof? What is the seal attached to?
