skunk2 intake manifold worth it????
Existing mods will make a big difference. I have one on my 91 hatch, SOHC and it makes a slight difference above 7k rpms (my ecu is chipped). It would be pointless if you only have minor bolts ons. Probably be more effective on race prepped heads or turbo.
If you see yourself going into the High Rpm then it's worth doing BUT for safety sake get upgraded valve springs and retainers. A slight increase in power over the stock manifold depending on what motor you have...

lol... "i have a chipped ecu" ,,, lol its a real good price and depending on motor and mods: will determine how much horsepower increase u will get with the s2 manifold

For a 100? Yea, I likely would.
Hell, intakes that do noithing cost more.
If you've got other mod's, and chipped ecu, go for it.
Just remember you will need to get the car tuned after, to see the true difference.

x2. tune it then you will get a difference, but highly suggest you should have at least full bolt ons with the I.M. then tune it!
$100 for an upgraded IM is pretty good considering that the standard "bolt-on" on any motor is much more than that Retail. The Skunk2 Intake Manifold goes for $300+ usually.
But i agree with the statement above just for $ saving purposes... Get everything on the motor you can BEFORE you get a tune.
A PROFESSIONAL Tune is the best thing for Any and Every car.

Got a black series S2 manifold on my B20V with supertech valvetrain. I noticed some top end with it, but I still need to port match it to the head. If you're already swapping it out, get a hondata or similar intake gasket while you're in there.
Hi, I bought a skunk2 intake manifold and my mechanic said its not going to do much but make the car look good. From his past experience with a del sol, he said that I could run into problems down the road with it. I have a b18b, headers, exhaust, short ram intake and I don't know what to do next? Any advice?
If you are not boosted, or running a heavily modified N/A build, it is worthless and will lose power in the lower RPMs. I had one on my y8 with a Crower stage 2 cam, supertech springs/retainers, and the car was powerless until 4500rpms. Pulled it off for a JRSC and the results were much, much better
No. This isn't one of those old V8s that you can slap on parts and increases horsepower. Adding all those go fast goodies on a stock engine without benefit of a tuned ECU is a waste of money and can actually HURT performance.
Do research before you start slapping expensive parts on your car.
