Transmission break-in period?
Hi Everyone. I guess this question is for those spirited drivers that frequent the track, autox, or drag. But, what would your normal break-in period, if truly any at all, be for a transmission going back in the car with new parts, specifically a new lsd, final drive, clutch, and flywheel.
The reason why I'm asking is, the car get's put back together on May 31st, and there is a time attack competition on June 5th. Is it feasible to push the car hard after x amount of days with x amount mileage put on the new parts?
Any feedback is very much appreciated.

Eh...the way I see it, clutches are cheap. Stock replacements are like $150ish. Breaking in a clutch wouldn't hold me back from doing a track event. I would drive the car around as much as possible to break it in as much as possible....which it sounds like you're saying.
But even if I got my car back the day before the event with 0 miles on the clutch...I'm going to the event.
The trans itself shouldn't need any break in procedure, however.

get in it and go, brand new cars new get a few hundred mile break in, clutches as far as I've ever done have never needed and setting in or break in period, just like brakes
When I put in a clutch type LSD I was recommended to break it in by doing figure 8's and circles in a parking lot for an hour or so then to flush out the tranny fluid after to get out any shavings.
Thank you everyone for you input! Let's hope all goes well
I do agree with B serious regarding not missing a race just to be nice to a clutch

Figure 8's for about ten mins, change the tranny fluid (for differential). Other then that there is no "break in" period needed. I have always done the "break in" period the way I was going to be driving the car. If your going to beat on your car break it in that way. If your going to cruise it then break it in that way.
No break-in unless it has a clutch type LSD. If its new or was just rebuilt, change the fluid after the first tank of gas. If it has carbon-lined synchros, they will take a couple hundred miles to completely bed-in with the gear cone.
