Default Ksport or Skunk2 springs

Did some searching and after what I found im gonna say this, I DONT CARE ABOUT TEIN S, GROUND CONTROL ECT ECT ECT... Im asking simply about these two ( Ksport/skunk2 ) They claim to have the same drop, around the same price, only difference ive seen from reading is that the Ksport is a progressive spring so im kind of leaning twards those, will be buying them today based upon people experiance/feedback, thank you.

Skunk2 has been doing suspension a lot longer and better than Ksport.

'Skunk2 has been doing suspension a lot longer and better than Ksport'
Thats like saying Jordan could beat Lebron right now just because he has been playing longer....

Well I ordered the Ksport so we'll see how it turns out, I was sold on the progressive spring rate, which skunk 2 didnt offer. Have a feeling they are about the same thing.

There is so much wrong with this I don't know where to start.

Progressive vs. linear is a big issue, progressive springs aren't predictable and actually make a car handle worse. The rate of the spring varies a bit through it's compression. Linear springs have the same rate at all compression.

While skunk2 isn't the best suspension manufacturer, Ksport is a taiwainese knockoff company.

D2/Ksport are exactly the same thing produced in the same factory with different powdercoat.

Here's some fine D2/Ksport quality products:

A buddy of mine ran K-sports on his '92 EG6 and they were rough as hell, the biggest reason he bought them was they were the only thing semi affordable he could find as most companies don't make ITR style rear shocks at a competitive price point. They didn't fly apart or anything, but he didn't have them all that long before he sold the car.

EK guy, thanks for actually explaining the difference and posting pics... Where were you last thursday when I was debating what to buy!! Ksports should be here this week and I guess we'll see how they go! Live and learn I suppose. Now when you say "not predictable" is that like saying you can take two identical corners at the same speed and the car will handle diff through both?

No, the spring will behave the same all the time. Progressive springs have varying rates through the compression. like I said. It will be the same on the same corner at the same speed.

However I doubt you're auto crossing or racing at the level where you're actually hitting the same turn over and over again with the same entry, speed, and brake/throttle level.

It's not predictable because you aren't going to be able to learn as easily how the springs compress in a turn, the linear springs will over-steer/under-steer gradually where a progressive spring might feel more wobbly in a turn where you're pushing the limits as the rates change as the spring compresses.

Progressive springs are more comfortable for daily driving, but don't necessarily handle that well in turns. They can, and they do, but liner springs tend to be better to learn on.

Well I guess I should be alright then, it is on a daily driver ( 14 miles to work and 14 back ) I dont autocross at all or go to the track that much either.
