Default Mini-Me. What octane to use?

So I just finished my mini me. D16z6 head on a D15B7 block with y8 head gasket, and was wondering what octane gas I should use. Some people said the compression was around 11:1 others said around 10:1. Some people said 87 octane was ok, others said I have to run 89. So which one should I run?

compression ratio should be around 10.2-10.5.. you can use pretty much all pump gas octanes whats the point to your question

quoting my late grandpa here: "gas is gas, dont let em fool ya" lol. but in all seriousness, you can try 87 and if it acts up then switch to mid-grade and so on.

well run it and listen to see if it pings when it gets under a load, mine was very noticeable when it was pinging cause of the fuel grade. If it doesn't you should be fine.

its up to you, running 87 isnt going to kill your car, i run it on my mini. But obviously 93 is going to be better for your car in the long run.

Personally i run 87 because its just a mini-me. Ill start running high octane when i throw a bigger engine in.

Maybe colder plugs would help.
