i know the 01 prelude has a factory immobilzer
wat about the 97-00?

 

yes they all do.. the immobilizer was put into production in the mid 97's and has been in all preludes since.

 

so does that mean all 5th gen have immobilzers? sorry i'm new here, when exactly in 97 did the 5th gen come out?

 

i dont know the exact date.. but i did quiet a bit of research on this before. and i found out that there are 5th gens w/ out the immobilizer, but they are the very first 97s.. there werent very many at alll.. i think trying to find one.. would be impossible...

 

would this immbolizer effect the tcu also. your transmisson control unit?

 

i dont believe so. however,i will check tomorrow and repost..

i'm trying to find a 97 prelude stick w/ out any mods. most of the ones i see on the market (and there isn't too many) are autos.

 

does anyone know how to overide or shut down the imobolizer ?
my car doesn't start and the fuel gauge wont come on when its in the II positon
need a quick fix

my dumbass used the learning key to start the car !!!!!

 

Ah, now I see. Please disregard my reply to the other topic you started. As you learned, you cannot use the Red learning key to start the car. You now need to get your car towed to a Honda dealer. A Honda dealer has to recode your Immobilzer system. Make sure to take the Red key with you. The dealer needs that key to recode your car.
