Re: Request For Dealer Visit: 2009-2011 Civic Accessory Drive Belt Noise

Background
American Honda (AHM) would like to inspect 2009-2011 Civics (except; Si & IMA) with a complaint of accessory drive belt noise. The noise can be described as a rattle bang; or knocking at idle.



Qualifier
AHM is interested only in 2009-2011 Civics that meet the following requirements:

First time complaints only.
The noise can be duplicated and verified.
Get an audio clip of the noise, if possible.
Make sure it’s not a Civic Si or Civic IMA.


For us to fully understand the cause of this noise, please call us so we can ask you a few questions prior to you attempting a repair. Depending on the situation, AHM may want to inspect the vehicle prior to making any repairs.



Action Required
If you have or know of such a vehicle, please call Technical Research & Support (TRS) Group at xxxxxxxxx. TRS will need to record certain vehicle information and provide you with further instructions.

i recommend going to a dealer to deal with these issues.
just leting people know honda is looking into these things.

 

check the belt tensor! i had the same problem and i just replace it myself and the noise is gone

 

Yet another drive belt SB....way to go honda!

 

i know our valvetrain ticks very loudly.. but other then that yeah.. go to a honda stealership!
