I'm looking to ground my valve cover to the frame. But don't have any extra grouns laying around would a "ground strap" from autozone work as well?

Is it important to have? Car never came with one when I got it, but figured I put one there anyway.

 

Yes it comes factory installed. Doesn't have to be on the front but you should have one from the VC to the chassis.

 

theres multiple engine ground points, but its good to keep all the factory locations in place, they are all merely wires of various sorts connecting two points of contact, you just have to make sure the wire is a sufficient size. Usually 14g or better on that valve cover ground.

 

get a foot or so of some 10g wire and crimp some connectors on the end and call it a day. heat shrink over the plastic pieces of the connectors if you want it to have that clean look
