Morning bump. If you have any questions feel free to ask. I haven't figured anything out yet. I work an overnight shift so I work all night and sleep during the day. 12 hour shifts.
I noticed that one of the ballasts is a silver color and the other is blue.
And when I turn my headlights on, one shows up white-ish and the other is the 6k blue. Not sure if that has anything to do with anything but I just noticed a minute ago.

So there grounded through the body of the ballast itself?
Yeah, I assume so. When I looked at the ballast there was a metal bracket that it was secured to that was bolted to the inside of the engine bay. I didn't see any other wires that were from the ballast to the frame/engine bay.
When I talked to the previous owner today he said that the car is still running the factory amp for the stereo and that the HIDs take up a lot of wattage. From what I understood they should take up less but I could be misinformed.

First, hid kits do not ground the ballast thru the body. I see this happen with cheap hid kits. Also older cars that have bad grounds. You can Either reground the hid straight to a clean bare surface thats not shared by anything else. The headlight light gound is shared by many componets in the car. Also make sure that your headunit is grounded to a clean surface too. That will help alot. Ditch your old ballast and buy a new kit too.
Thanks STI-Eater. I was thinking about just ditching the entire kit and getting a quality one. I found some on like passwordjdm or weksos for a decent price. I just have to figure out what bulb setup I need and all that jazz.
If the HID is just taking up to much power, does that mean I need to just get a better amp for my stereo?
