hey guys i wanna buy fog lights for my 98 honda civic HB. and i have a site to buy it from but i dunno which one to buy.

my question is does every fog light work with my car? or does it need to say 95-00 fog light. i just want to know if the wiring is compatible. hope you guys can answer this question. thanks

 

no, you have to order the one for your year, model, and sometimes submodel

 

You will need the 96-98 foglight kit. Assuming you have a 98 front end.. The 96-98 foglights are square, and the 99-00 have a plastic cover around them and have a round light in the middle.

I would HIGHLY recommend getting the oem honda switch and under-dash wiring if you don't have it already. A $30-40 investment that was well worth it to me.

I just bought a kit and the switch the came with seems to be pretty lose and would rattle

 

Iam not sure of the part number but the aftermarket wiring has often shorted out, caught on fire, or just quit working, and the aftermarket switch does not fit exactly right and often only last a few months before it burns out anyways causing you to replace it. The OEM under-dash harness is completely plug and play and it is much simpler then the aftermarket harness and does not have hardly any problems. Now honestly I have the aftermarket wiring and switch and have not had any problems at this time but I am soon upgrading to the OEM equipment.

 

FYI, the '96-'98 foglights come in round and square (and both in yellow or clear).

The '99-'00s are round (some have the same assembly as the '96-'98 rounds iirc) but have a bezel that goes around them. OE bezels are a charcoal color. Aftermarket are often black.
