Replace dash cluster bulbs
Anyone know how to replace the dash cluster bulbs? I assume you can pull the gauge cluster out somehow? At night I can barely see mine and the right side appears to be out worse. Temp gauge in bottom right is almost invisible at night.
Thanks

Oh yeah on max brightness you can barely see anything and the left side is slightly better than the right half of the gauges. There are definitely bulbs out. I assume I need to pull parts of the dash and cluster out to get to them. Any step by steps on this? I hate pulling blindly hoping I know where the clips are etc. and breaking things. I've never pulled a cluster on one of these cars.
total of 6 screws, you have 2 that hold the bezel and then 4 that hold the cluster in place. It helps having a long screwdriver for the two on the sides. I just installed all new bulbs in my 99 and it made a huge difference.
When you get the cluster out make sure to also replace the 2 bulbs at the top of the cluster that are located on the front side.

Oh nice man. Thanks guys. Will have to give this a shot. Kista20, do you remember how many bulbs there were? I'll try and get them ahead of time.
Here is the qty and honda part #'s
4 - 37238-SD2-A00
1 - 37239-S01-A71
2 - 35505-SA5-003
that should replace all the ones that light up the cluster. If any the other indicators are burned out then you will need more of the 35505-SA5-003. I'd suggest just replacing all the bulbs so you only have to do it once and for that you would need a total of 10 of those bulbs and one 37103-SD2-003 for the low fuel light.

Low fuel light? I didn't even know my car had a low fuel light lol. Might just be a blown bulb. Thanks for listing. I'll see what I can get.
I forgot to update the thread but I did replace the bulbs and it made a big difference. I can see it at night now.
One odd thing was all the illumination bulbs had blue plastic caps on them to give a blue light. The plastic was bonded on so hard I couldn't get them off without completely tearing them up. I even tried soaking them in hot water. So finally I gave up on them and just installed the bulbs without them. The autoparts store certainly didn't have the blue covers.
So I was wondering are those little blue covers stock or do you think a prior owner just did that?
Thanks
Malcolm

Those little blue plastic covers on the bulbs are like light filters that make the light white. If you take em off (I did) then your cluster will look amber.
I've spent almost $100 on various LEDs and I wasn't happy with the 4 different configurations of bulbs I tried.
I'm using plain white halogen bulbs now and the difference is night/day. It's not some cool color but I can see it so much better at night.
My CRV cluster is naturally fairly orange as it is.

I didn't try white LEDs but after trying variosu configurations or orange LEDs i'm not willing to shell out another $40 for LED bulbs. My problem was all the hot spots created.
I've got a 99' CRV cluster. It's orange. With white halogens it lights up nicely. I would have bought white LEDs MAYBE if I hadn't had such bad results with orange Leds. I was tired of spending $20-40 per trial of various LED bulb configurations.
$20 or $40 is insane. Don't get from radio shack and such, order online. You can get leds for pennies. Google for large suppliers like mouser etc.
Single bulb LEDs don't make a wide enough light output. Most of the ones I tried were 3-7 bulb iterations.
Keep in mind $30-$40 was 4 97 bulbs and 1 expensive 174 bulb. The 174s are what are expensive. They're usually $10-$15
