Default Car running a little to hot!

Hey guys.

I have a car with darton sleeves, gt35r with water lines setup.

I am having an issue the car is running a little to hot.

1st thing I Changed was the thermostat.

When I turn the car on everything is ok and if it sits and idles to long it will get right up to 200 and will climb but I just shut it off.

I changed the radiator fan to a 2150cfm cooling fan and it seems to work but it comes on and off way to often when sitting in traffic.

I set up the s300 to have the fan come on @ 188 and if the car sits in traffic the can comes on and shuts off very often. During regular driving the fan stays off and the car is @ 185.

The radiator is a shitty ebay one but I have done many cars that have ran this same radiator.

What else have you guys tried and what do you guys recomend for a radiator?

My friend had the same problem and he removed his thermostat and the issue was resolved. I forgot to add he has a Darton sleeved block with a 30R and civic half rad.

I have seen some ebay radiators have very thin flue's which cause some overheating issues at times.

This was the type of thermostat that was in there to begin with same results. Had about 10 small holes drilled into it. Same exact results.

I usually just cut the center section of the thermostat and leaving the rest of the housing it to prevent leak. I do it for all my customer's car and no problem with overheating.

The fan is supposed to come on it traffic, as you are moving too slow to move air through the radiator to cool the water. The fan moves the air for you. You'd hate to drive an RDX, stock the fans come on all the time. Have you tried propping the back of the hood up to help the hot air escape the bay? Is the DP really close to the radiator? Is it coated or wrapped? coating the DP/mani/and exhaust housing helps a lot also

i have my fan come on at 175-180 during the real hot weather.

i was also running hot last year. i propped the hood up in the back and it helped a little bit. this year i put 4 decent size holes in the tstat and heatwrapped the manifold and downpipe. its not warm enough here though to see if it worked yet

is this a common thing to do in street cars as well as track cars? or mostly track cars?

My last daily driven turbo integra used a ball bearing, water cooled turbo, I only had over heating (220F) issues when I ran a cheap *** cx racing radiator. I tried everything with that pos in there, i ran straight water with water wetter, no thermostat, nothing worked to keep it in the 195 range.

It ran "normal" once i switched out to a better radiator with more volume.

I do this to all the turbo car that we build. It help on the street car because we only see temps at around 180-185 when cruising and right at 195-200 after a full run.

Does anyone have pictures of an intalled/mounted electric water pump? I am looking for ideas on how I should mount mine.
