Hey all, I have a stock dx and the speedo doesn't work at all.
The tach, temp gauge, fuel level and lights all work fine though.
When I bought the car it wasn't running so I had to swap in another d15b2,
but can't confirm whether it was working before the swap.

The problem is I need to get it inspected but it throws a code for the VSS.
I'm wondering if I should just try to clean up the connections and plug it all back in snug and secure and hope it works..
I would also like to know where the speedo cable goes to in the engine bay,
so I can check that out and see if there's a problem there.
The connections behind the cluster look alright, but I don't know what they're supposed to look like originally..
Let me know what you think, and where you would start to check..

How did you fix the problem? My speedo went out but everything else works. Just wondering what your cure was?

 

Oh well my cable wasn't even connected to the trans. My buddy helped me with the swap and apparently neglected to tell me that he didn't hook it up, but I know why he didn't because the previous owner snapped the tip of it off in the trans. SO new cable for me lol.

 

Maybe that is why my speedo does not work. I will have to check that in the morning.
