Default Which 4-1 Header should I go with??

I have a 96 JDM integra type-r swap and i am looking to purchase a 4-1 Header in the near future. I was leaning toward the DC Sports Header and was close to purchasing it but I decided to come on here to get some opinions on which brand to get.

I would also want a Skid Plate so some advice on that would be great also!

Thanks in advance,

Jeremy

DC headers are junk. this topic has been covered many times. Depends on your budget.

Spoon or Toda if you want to spend $1000+ ... otherwise a lot of 'good reviews' for the RMF header.

unless you're going to pony up money for a nice piece use the oem itr header or manifold depending on which year you have. they are good flowing pieces and aren't outdone until you start spending cash.

If one was to buy a JDM 4-1 header, would it bolt right up to the USDM cat or will some modification be needed (I would suspect the latter as the JDM cats are shorter in length?)

What makes them junk? I hear mixed reviews about them. Are they junk performance wise or material wise? lol

they were they **** when they 1st came out and now that there are new headers like smsp, tri-y, v2....of coarse they think it will be crap. People judge way to easily. Whatever 4-1 u can afford, get it. Any itr replica will perform the same as a authenti itr header, or a dc4-1. IMO i would really suggest getting a tri-y header. They are just mean looking, and superior quality.

Hey, thanks for your post! I currently have the Skunk 2 Header (4-2-1) but it is currently damaged (2 of the pipes are crushed). I wanted to go with a 4-1 Header this time around.

Nope. Usdm is 2.25 and jdm is 2.5. Plus usdm cat is like 5 inches longer. I have the jdm header and really like it. Rather use money on track days then some baller header that makes a few extra ponies.

So then how do you make it fit?

x2

There is plenty of good headers to choose from.. just not DC.. some good makes are Hytech,Rmf etc. some others already mentioned. I can personally vouch for the 2 I listed but I would recommend a build and a tune to compliment especially the Rmf for full potential.

and regarding the skid plate find a fabricator and get one made to you liking.

some more inexpensive headers that i can say are pretty well made is the hytech big tube replica.. although im not the biggest replica fan i would recommend them over the DC sport.. good luck with your decision

Tom I use a smsp 2.5 testpipe usdm length then mooogen twinloop. Do it right the first time instead of cutting and welding to make it fit. If you want to mke some noise at expo ill sell you my spoon n1 axle back that bolts directly to usdm b-pipe lol.

Thank you sir for your reply, I really appreciate it! I am now leaning toward the B-series Narrow Header.

Thanks
