I did the swap. It starts runs super rough and completely dies if i press the gas. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

 

Is the check engine light on?

 

Yes codes 10 and 16. I've looked and looked but noone has an end result to fixing it. Fuel pump? Main relay?

 

Have you tried checking for continuity first?

 

Here is the flow chart for checking code 16. I would try another main relay first just because they are notorious for going out.

Code 10 is the Intake Air Temp sensor which is usually on the intake runner of the cylinder closest to the timing belt.

 

Thank you. My car started acting up and throwing a 16 before the mpfi swap so I parked it. I got a new main relay (well used from a junk yard) and put it on. But in the process I did the mpfi swap as well. Is there a way to test the main relay? And also when I turn the key the pump doesn't prime. But then again as you said it could be the relay.

There is a flow chart at the bottom if the main relay is not clicking/fuel pump not priming.

 

Thanks again for the links. I've checked everything. I took my rear seat out and put my ear on the floor and I hear the pump making noise. So it's on. I just don't get whybif I hit the gas it dies...I took my fuel rail off and it's got fuel I tested each injector and they all work. I'm so lost!!!!!

 

stupid question but have you tried checking the timing?

 

code 16 is the fuel injector code check your wiring and did you flop the 2 wires on the tps around?

 

That's not a dumb question. I haven't. I don't even know how. I just figured it runs and idles do it must be in time haha
