Default How can I tell if it is a H22a JDM motor?

I am buying one locally and it's an automatic. I am thinking about just buying the motor without the tranny. If so, can it be convert to manual tranny. What do I need (flywheel???). Please help. Thank you.

Look on the front of the block H22A will be stamped onit. If it has a Number after the A(like H22A1 or H22A2) its not a JDM motor.

Well if it's an H22A and it's an AUTO it has to be JDM!! But yeah the block code is the way to tell about the engine

It could be an auto from a 5th Gen...

Make sure it just says "H22A".. Not "H22A4"

for it to be converted to a manuel, you're need clutch, flywheel, ECU, axles, slave and master cylinder, tranny, shifter cables, gauge cluster, and another pedal. Maybe theres something else, but those are your main parts

i think his car is manual...to convert the engine to manual all you would need is a flywheel

well the engine i think should say h22a not h22a1 or h22a4 and it should have an internal coil (not sure what the 5th gen had though)

And the flyhwheel bolts. You cant reuse the flexplate bolts.
