alright i got a 94 civic HB and the front speakers i got JL Audio C2-525x they dont fit properly beucase of the notorious shallow brackets...so my question is to get my speakers to fit properly in the stock locations what should i use as a spacer to fix the depth issue besides using washers and longer screws? any help would be appreciated thanks.
You can make some using a jigsaw and 3/4 mdf, pine or whatever wood you have lying around, they won't be seen but you want to make sure there rigid and wont fall apart. or:

For Best SQ replace the stock plastic speaker housing with a custom MDF speaker plate, use the stock housing as a template and cut it out of 1/2" MDF, drill mounting holes to line up with stock holes, cut out speaker hole, big enough for speaker magnet plus a little, then add whatever height you need to get the mounting depth you need for the speaker using MDF spacers.
The mounting plate needs to be shaped like the stock housing but the spacers can just be round, OS diameter the same as speakers overall diameter and the speaker mounting hole, [IS diameter] to match the speaker, you can use diff. thickness of MDF to get the correct mounting depth.
The 3 main rules for mpounting speakers are...
Airtight seal between front and back of speaker for at least the diameter of the speaker from the edge of the speaker, lower speaker F3 point, [better bass].
Absolutely flat surface for mounting speaker, twisting/warping the speaker basket will misalign the speakers VC.
The more mass the better, as speaker mounting plate made of MDF will have a lot more mass then the stock plastic speaker housings. 94
