Default Which Axel goes where?

I'm installing the Hasport mounts and wanted to make sure they were going on the proper sides.

I'm putting the longer one on the left side
(pictured on the bottom)

....is this correct? I couldn't get a good image from the Honda manual.

are you swapping in a b-series? If so there is the mid shaft where the driver axle has to go into it, one should be splined on both ends but on one end it should have a place where you put the axle nut. If youre swapping in a d-series then its pretty obvious which one goes where.

I'm swapping in a B-series...one has splines all the way up the shaft...the other has splines half the way up. Just wanna make sure I'm putting the axles on the proper sides.

@nate - one fits snug, but you have to slightly pull the axel to get the cap on.
...and if you try the other on the same side, that axel is long enough, but doesn't fit flush.

Make sure you have the correct halfshaft otherwise the axles will bind. Which year and model motor are you swapping in? Did you change the half shaft at all? This is a big problem if it's wrong trust me

splines part way = passenger side
splines all the way = driver's side

@jdmboyef9 - I'm swapping in a '95 B18B1. The engine and half shaft was originally on an EF hatch swap.
I ordered the Hasport B-Series Axles.
Funny thing is...I called Hasport and the say that the axle with the splines going half way up the shaft is the Driver's side axle. WTH...this is driving me crazy! LOL

obviously, whoever you talked to at Hasport didn't know anything about axles - unless of course, they were meaning the driver's side on the right hand drive car

who did you talk to at Hasport? no one would have told you that information

the one with splines all the way goes into the intermediate shaft = driver side axle
the one with half splines goes into the transmission = passenger side axle

Not sure who it was I talked to, but I explained the problem I had, and asked "Which axle goes on the driver's side...the one with the splines running all the way up the shaft, or the one that runs half way up?" He said the one that runs half way up.

No biggie (we're all human), we got the issue straight. We ended up lifting the car up and shinning a light up in there....we saw, on the passenger side, where it started half way.

Thanks for everyones help!
