Default Do I/H/E have major effects on 4th gen's??

i know that i/h/e makes a huge difference to a 99-00 civic Si but does it also make a big difference on a 4th gen Prelude Si??

yes. also mods generally respond better to bigger displacement. so you're looking at some decent gains. but don't expect any huge difference.
10-15WHP would be a decent gain.

a dyno tested 4th gen SI made 155 whp 155 lb-ft of torque with i/h/e

considering 15% drivetrain loss, thats 183 hp 183 lb-ft

btw: that same car made 136 whp with just intake (short ram i think too)

Yes and no...

a 4th gen has a very restrictive Air flow....and does benefit 15-20whp from mods

But basically I/H/E/V-AFC tuning you won't get much above 180whp without cracking the motor open.

I agree the H23 is capable of unleashing a decent amount of power from I/H/E.
I need headers and to modify my intake to get the best gains.. cant wait for heders.. but I maybe getting a H22a soon so headers may not be a good thing to get right now..

but yeah between 10/15hp with a decent setup

It makes a difference but I think suspension is the first thing to do. This is coming from someone who did I/H/E and that stuff first, suspension last.

My recommendation to someone who has a stock Prelude engine bay right now...leave it that way. Get an intake and exhaust if you want, but wait until a few more parts are released, I.E. SMSP's header or the Skunk2 IM and see how they do. The H22A comes with a VERY good header stock, I'd wait it out.

on some cars i'd agree about the suspension...but the stock prelude suspension is bad ***...this car handles with the best of them, that's why i haven't touched mine yet...also, intakes are cheap and the best bang for the buck bolt on

uhhhhhhhh no. An SI with I/H/E only gained 11 HP and 7 Lbs.ft. .. from a stock 136 HP to the wheels. That car would need some boost to get 180+ lbs ft. of torque... mkayyyyyyy.

Don't know where you're getting this inflated info.. but it is tre wrong.
