05 Tl Type s MT Trans problem
Well tried searching everwhere for this problem. Its a transmission out of a 05 tl type s 6 speed, that is swapped into my 94 civic. You can get the shifter into reverse but when you let out on the clutch, reverse grinds and will not move. The car will creep back slow when you barley release pressure of the pedal. It just started this **** last night. Been driving it for about a week. Not a problem with the shifter cables either, I already unhooked them. Any help would a awesome.
I know that d,b,h,f do not have syncros in reverse, not sure about the Js. I've started tearing this thing apart tonight. Im kinda thinking that I may have broke a shift selector in the trans but who knows. Thanks for your input. its much apperciated
Jut thought I'd post the findings just incase anyone else has this problem. The reverse gear is completely chewed up and both input shaft bearings are bad. Another FYI the reverse gears in the 05 TL Type S transmission do have a syncro gear.
05 Tl TYPE S does not exist, 3G TL type S came in 07-08 only, just for your info. in case you look for parts for correct car.
anyone correct me if I'm wrong.
anyone correct me if I'm wrong.
did you check the shift fork, too? i'd make sure that the shift fork didn't cause your issues
Yeah checked the shift forks. I have a auto j32a2 engine and harness in a civic with a 05 manual transmission. I let my dad drive it the other day before the problems happened. I think he may have tried to go to reverse while he was hunting for 6th. My car doesnt have the reverse lockout hooked up. But thats just a speculation of what happened.
