convert power windows to manual windows?
You know I read that backwards.. Damn dyslexia. My brain would not allow me to entertain the notion of NOT wanting power windows.

Not sure why anyone would really wanna do this but,
you would probably have to get a manual window regulator and handle, and then dx or cx inner door pannels.
You could probably leave the wires in the door, just tape them.
Seems like more work than it's worth tho.

Doing this downgrade is as bad as those GSR Integras swapping out their broken down b18c1 motors and slapping in a B16 or LS. They are too lazy to fix a simple problem.
Not really the same I'd prefer the reliability of manual windows over power but thats just me. To me there less likely to be problems with manual windows. No motors to burn out, no wiring shorts to deal with ect.. Granted the likelihood of this happening is slim but bottom line is you'll never have to worry about it.
When I had my 2000 back in '03 I had issues with the drivers side motor. The cheapest motor I found was $90. SUCKED ***** especially with being right out of high school on a part time job. A quick eBay search Found this for you.

It would be a quick 30 min-hour fix. versus trying to track down manual parts and what have you. But that's just my opinion.

Seriously...if the op wanted manual windows, he/she should've bought a DX Civic instead of an SI. But then, there will be a thread asking how to wire up the power windows so...yeah. hahaha
reliability? manual windows break too. and if you break a handle its the whole door panel not just a little switch box.
i'd fix your power windows first. its not hard.
buy oem. if you buy ebay i'd be willing to bet you'd be back with my windows finally broke.

It's not realibility issues...it's called LAZINESS. Some people just don't want to do manual work.
Sorry for resurrecting this, but I have a 2003 civic LX, and I'm interested in possibly converting to manual. Are the door components compatible? Which models would I look for in a junkyard to find parts? What would be involved in the swap, and are the rear doors an option as well?

Because if window regulators fail they cost money. I would want a power passenger window and a manual driver window. You have no clue how many people i see with saran wrap on their windows or who have to OPEN THEIR DOORS in a mcdonalds drive through.
