Default 2 swaps at once (89 crx hf <-> 90 crx si)

here goes the quick story...

thankfully both are already converted to obd1.

89crxhf has d15z1 vtec w/oibd1 ecu
90crxsi has b18a1 ls vtec w/obd1 ecu

i'm swapping the two. some of the wiring on each is in the dash side of the wire harness of the ecu before the jumper. will the wire colors on each harnesses be the same so I can just mark what color wire goes to what and not have to figure out the pin outs? yes i can read a wiring diagram but hoping someone just knows off hand. thanks

becuase one is 89 hf and the other is 90 si. do the dash harnesses use the same wiring colors?

you will need to keep the HF engine harness in the HF car and the Si engine harness in the Si car - the engine harnesses are not interchangeable between the two - so, put the engine harness now on the D15Z1 onto the B18A1 and put the engine harness now on the B18A1 onto the D15Z1 - only way it will work, unless you want to do a bunch of wiring changes on each engine harness

ok will do. some of the wires are wired into the harness on the passenger side before the jumper. so can i just mark the wire color and just reconnect to the same color wire on the other car?

it should.

HF may have a couple of extra wires, something with a reverse wire and something with the upshift light (at the ecu).

z1 will have extra wires because of 5-wire sensor and egr stuff.
