Neuspeed/Swift Shock Tower Installation Secrets???
Okay,
So its not secret that this bar is a major PITA to install based on the reviews I've seen. Of course the bar is both new and solid so that makes it that much more difficult when you try to flex the bar over the last bolt. Prior to installing it I wanted to paint it flat black, now that I'm ready to put it on the damn this is killing me.
At the moment I have the drivers side bolts barely threaded on the UCA bolts (just so the bolts don't slip out while i work the other side, also gives me the most flexibility.) I can even get three bolts on but the last one is just killing me. I've tried everything. Ive tried it w/the car on the floor as well as having the wheel slightly up in the air. I've tried securing two bolts "kitty corner," I've tried wedging a tire iron to slip it over the bolt.
Here is how the bar mounts...not my car, just using a picture in hopes someone can lend some advice:

Anyone have any install secrets for me by chance? I feel like there is an easy way to do this and I'm missing the big picture...
Please help guys/girl.

Ya, it was definately a pain in the ***. First and foremost I'd like to say thank you Tyson (and thanks Patrick) for pointing me in the right direction as far as this mod is concerned. I'm really quite pleased with this bar, possibly the best 50 clams I've shelved out thus far, it definitely feels more effective then the OEM GSR bar I was using before...
Here is the Swift shock tower bar installed:

I'd like to start out by saying that I tried muscling this bar on for two hours prior to doing a little thinking....don't let this happen to you. Work smarter, not harder.
First and foremost its almost impossible to get the bar on by yourself. I started by barley threading one side on, two turns at most...I found it was easier to thread the drivers side bolts first. Then I had my wife wedge a broom stick holding the UCA bolts up while I powered the bar on, the third went on with ease...the fourth took a little more muscle. After slightly threading the last bolt I just evenly tightened the four bolts and was on my way. I'll double check them in a day or two to make sure they're still tight.
Long story short, without the force of the broom wedging the UCA bolts upward there's no possible way to slide the bar over the UCA's bolts, they just fall down every time unless something is forcing it upward.:

Although this thread may seem dumb, I'm hoping the next person who buys one of these shock tower bars (either Nuespeed or Swift) will run across this thread...I searched tons of threads today on the net. No one had any tips, everyone just said it was a pain in the ***. I even ran across a couple threads where people actually drilled the UCA bolt holes little larger so they'd have an easier time getting the bar on. PLEASE DON'T DO THAT PEOPLE
I can only hope the next person who runs into this issue comes across this thread.
Cheers HT!

Ya...tried that, didn't work for me. Raising the car up w/a jack makes no difference as another person is still needed to hold the UCA bolts into the engine bay so you can slide the brace over the UCA bolts. Having another person to help with that turned it into a 15 minute install rather then fighting with it.
I will say that if the car is low I definitely recommended the jack so you have room to wedge the crowbar/pry bar holding the UCA bolts up while pressing against the tire. This gives the second person enough leverage to bend the bar onto the UCA's.
Some of the other threads I read said a jack was needed, so threads said you need to drop the shocks down...etc etc...I just found that this was easiest for me, thats all.

Thanks for pointing these to me. I had a couple of minutes and didn't have a helper, but I stuck a hockey stick under there and stepped on in while I got things lined up. Worked like a charm. 15 minutes in. Done and done. I haven't driven it yet (wrong ecu with the recent engine swap...) but I'll report in when I do.
Sorry to bring this thread back from old but I have a hard time installing mine. My problem was not the UCA falling down but I couldn't get the two bolts on the other side to line up right. It was about half an inch off, like if the bar was short. I bought the Sprint bar and my car is the 90 Accord LX. Like the OP, I tried with and without the car jacked up. With the car up, there's no change in the bolts positions at all. I wonder if there's a way to bring the towers bolt half an inch closer. I guess I am not strong enough to pull on the bar. BTW, Sprint bar is just like the Neuspeed.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I'm saying it's a cheap knock-off. What did you expect for $50? The REAL ones are a bitch to get on. And with it being .5" off no one way in hades you're going to be able to massage that on.
