quick help!!!! stock gearset hp???
alright just want some input on what h22 trans can hold? i know i wont be that one random guy that makes crazy hp on a stock trans but heres what i got...stock gearset with just some changing around of gear ratios, quafe lsd, handcuff, spec carbon to carbon twin disc, dss 5.9 axles. i know i need a dog box but dont have the money right now so its got to work for now.
how much have you put down and the tranny actually last?

Seriously man do a search. This crap has been covered for centuries. Some break them with 200whp, some last to 800whp. Setup, weight, clutch, launching methods, shifting methods, luck.....all plays a part.
Since you dont have the funds for a dog box and its gonna have to do for now you know your gonna run it till it breaks no matter what anyway.. So just post back when you do and let us know how much it will take...
Why do you need a dog box to handle power? Dog box is for shifting, has nothing to do with power.
You're gonna need a gearset though; no point in making a bunch of power if you have to baby the tranny.

Mine would last about 5-7 passes before it would shear the teeth off a gear once i got into the 9.8 range, But my car weighed at the time 2550 and weight is what puts the most stress on the trans. If you car is lighter you wont have as much breakage. I did make a a few passes at the end if last year and the car weighed 2660 and went 9.41@161 on a stock H23 trans with a LSD, then pulled it out to put my dog box back in.
Who sells just a gear set? Not making crazy power but plan on being 800 before its all said and done... just got a event tom and if I needed to tune it down some so I don't brak shiy I was going to

Mfactory and Saenz sell synchronized gearsets and albins and PPG sell dog box for the H. Switch to a Bseries and liberty, PPG, Mfactory, and Albins all have dog box and Albins has a Synchronized B. I sure there are more. The dogbox sets are perfect for drag, but the synchronized sets seems to be "close ratio" in which 5th is usually 1:1. You'd just have to play with different combos to get what you want.
thanks and i think im about to go another route or something bc i just dont see paying 5k plus on a trans anytime soon and i think i got a sunk sleeve... found that out at 5:00 this morning after pulling an all nighter to make a race
