Icon2 JDM HID headlights with 94 ABS unit

Someone probably asked this already and I'm probably going to get some hate comments telling me to search it but i couldnt find it so please help if you can.

I have a 94 Integra GSR with ABS system. I just put on a JDM ITR Front End Conversion (HID Version)... Since the HID headlights has the HID system attached to it, the passenger side wont fit because of the ABS system right behind the headlights. What do i do? Do I try to find Integra RS lines to convert it to Non-ABS so i can fit the headlight or is there another year with a ABS system that will still fit the headlight? I heard the 2000 integra has a smaller ABS system...Would this fit the headlight with the year 2000 version and if so, will i need to change the hard brake lines too?

Thanks for the help H-T!!

Nice! Thanks for the quick response! What year Integra was it? Is it the ABS system with the lines coming in through the front side of the ABS box? So i can just twist it? Do you happen to have a picture Thanks!

Oh nice... Yeah i would appreciate it if you could post a pic of that. I definitely need to do that. It'll be a lot cheaper than trying to redo all the lines and system to a newer ABS or losing ABS. Thanks!

Good question? Maybe, it has been asked and answered a number of times, though.

The thread title, on the other hand, left much to be desired as it's useless to others searching on this subject. Please note the sticky topics at the top of the forum. I'll go ahead and change this thread title.

You can either bend the ABS unit slightly, or convert to non-ABS with RS brake lines and a 40/40 prop valve. Those are pretty much your 2 options for using OEM JDM HID headlights in a 94-97 Integra.

Thanks for helping me out with the title and the tip. So there is no use changing to the year 2000 ABS system and brake lines?

You can get them anywhere. www.theretrofitsource.com is a good place.

I'm not sure if it's even possible to convert to the newer ABS. It's quite a bit different and is likely intertwined with several other systems in the car. IMHO it wouldn't be worth it AT ALL just to use the OEM HID headlights and ballasts.

its not oem from honda. they're after market slim ballast hid's. just make sure you get size D2S with slim ballast and you'll have plenty of room just mount the ballast somewhere else.

I would prefer to keep ABS in my car and also keep the OEM HID Ballasts...

Lets say I want to convert my ABS modulator to a smaller 98+ ABS Modulator... What would i need to do this? I know i will need the hard brake lines, but will i need anything else? Will i need to change my prop valve or the
ABS Control Unit? They look the same on www.acuraoemparts.com but they have a different part number. Anyone know if the 94-96 ABS control unit will work with the 98+ ABS modulator?

I really want to make these HID ITR headlights work on my car cuz I just sold my non HID headlights to buy these. I just posted a Thread looking for anyone parting out a 98+ Integra so if any of you know someone or come across someone parting out their 98-01 Integra please let me know. I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

The older ABS is a 3 channel unit while the revised version is 4 channel. It is highly unlikely it would even be possible to make it work, unless you changed out the ECU, converted to OBD2 and changed out most of the electrical systems in the car.

As I said, bend the stock ABS unit slightly to make it fit, remove ABS completely, or use slim ballasts and mount them elsewhere from the headlight housing. Newer ballasts will be just as good or better than 12-14 year old OEM ITR ballasts.

I dont have the ABS problem, i was just asking for ur opinion if upgrading the oem HID is worth it. I dont have any problems now, just want to know if there is any benefit to it.

Damn i just bought the 2000 ABS setup for my 94 Integra today. So it probably wont even work? Im planning on using a P28 ECU with Hondata S300 and use the 2000 ABS Pump with the ABS fuse box. That wont work?

do what I did.. losen the abs unit and bend the lines alittle, don't kink them up. Move the unit to the right and up more til u have room for the ballast.. and don't forget the ac lines on the left side if you still have ac. I had to bend my ac line to make the left headlight fit, plus remove windsheild washer fluid bottle and got an jdm itr one with the ripple neck. it's possible but pretty ghetto.. drove like that for 2 years before I decided to convert to non-abs and tuck the bay.

Damn clean engine bay! I think i will have to do this because I just found out that i cannot use the 2000 ABS pump that i just bought Thanks for the help...I will be doing exactly this. I was also thinking of removing the ABS. Do you have a pic of your JDM windshield washer fluid bottle? Or a new pic of your engine bay now with the wire tuck?

So your brother took everything out now huh? Even the windshield washer fluid bottle. I was thinking of going K too but it started adding up and got too expensive. Plus no one would buy my B-series until it was too late and i gave up trying to sell it and started buying cams and everything for my B...haha.
