OK i have a 96 civic dx i did a y7 toy8 head swap it iled weird andi blew it up one day during a race rod kock... any way i got a jdm d15b in it now and it still idles like this i wasnt worried about it cause it didnt bug me but since gas prices are going up i wanna fix it to save all the gas i can lol..


I thought it was map sensor cause when i took it off n coverd the hole up it idles normal i replaced it like 5 times last one i knew for a fact worke cause i took it off my friends old motor

it onyl jumps between 1500 and 1600 but still annoyinn waste of gas

also, I see CEL on, jump it and check codes..

 

the cel is knock sensor, 02 sensor (cause stock header has 2 new one has 1) got primary hooked up, vtec pressure switch but vtec crosses over hard

clean it
adjust it

see what happens

my car does the same **** and i cant figure out what it is either.. but its wierd when i turn my heater or headlights on it stops lmfao

 

my car did the same thing when i had the timing done... check the idle air screw on the TB.. if not check the timing

 

try bleeding the cooling system, you might have air trapped in there causing the surging
