Default '92 civic, blower motor has me stumped

I have replaced the switch on the center console, the resistor, and blower motor. I still cannot get the blower motor to run unless I have it ground off straight from the blower motor itself. Even then it only runs on full power and eventually melts where I have the power wire spliced together by the blower motor. (I had to replace the electrical connector that goes into the blower motor as the old one had melted, so that it why I have the power wire spliced right by the blower motor.)

Sounds like a bad Blu/Blk wire between the blower motor and resistor or switch. Do you have the correct 30A hood fuse #37 installed?

Yes, I do have the fuse installed. I've checked the blu/blk wires and nothing looks bad at all.
