Default B16a2/S4C transmission - starter fitment problem

So I have now gone through 4 different starters (rebuilding them myself and one brand new one) and I cannot get the flange bolts to match the trans. I have a B16A2 motor and order the parts accordingly. WTF am I doing wrong!? Pls help im startint to loose sleep over this!

The starter bolts to the transmission not the engine. What transmission do you have?

S4C trans, which is what was sold with the motor factory...correct? It is a USDM motor.

Both...I can get one to line up but not the other. The flange will fit the opening in the trans but then the bolts don't match the holes and vise versa if one bolt is started b4 the starter is fit into the opening. Is it possible to have a difference between and US Si and a Canadian Sir?

I edited the title to one that better describes the problem and that hopefully will help you get an answer.

No, both are the same, you might want to order for an Integra though ('94 - '01 with manual transmission) I'd say it's pretty likely your local parts store has a screwed up listing for the civic.

Glad that worked out for you, parts store was mostly giving you D-series starters.
